Conquest-2016 Launches its First Networking Session in Delhi

BENGALURU: Conquest, BITS Pilani’s International Startup Challenge, launches its first networking session this year at Investopad in Delhi this Sunday. Sponsored by DCB Bank, Conquest is the nation’s largest student-run startup challenge which brings innovators, top level VCs and thought leaders together. Additionally, this event helps the talented entrepreneurs to build their dreams with equity-less cash prizes and also provides funding opportunities for the participating startups.

“DCB Bank is excited to be associated once again with BITS Pilani as and be the title sponsor for Conquest 2016. India is buzzing with startups and the excitement is palpable. We hope to add value to the young entrepreneurs and look forward to this unique experience,” asserts Murali M Natrajan, MD & CEO, DCB Bank.

The event was attended by members from established startups such as of PayTm, Grofers and OYO Room, who shared their views and supporting the young ventures in their startups. Organised in association with Exotel and CitrusPay, this year’s event was a grand success by receiving more than 1200 applications from various sectors like virtual reality, Internet of Things and healthcare. For the networking session in Delhi, Bangalore and Mumbai, only 50 startups out of those 1,200 applicant startups were shortlisted based on their models, user traction and sustainability. The main motive of this event is to assist these startups in product management, customer acquisition, technology, funding and scaling up. The next session of the event will be held at Mumbai on July 9 and in Bangalore on July 10, 2016,with the grand finale being organised ITC Maurya, New Delhi on August 28, 2016.

Commenting on the networking sessions, Bhawna Agarwal, CEO, NDTV Gadgets, says, “It was refreshingto speak with the Top 50 of Conquest. The startups were very interesting and the atmosphere wasdifferent from that of a traditional B Plan competition. Sitting with the entrepreneurs one on onewas much better, wherein the startups could talk freely with their guards down and seek guidance. The team was instrumental in creating a meaningful experience and an environment of mutualencouragement”.
