Agri-Biotech Start-up Pitch Winners Declared by TiE Hyderabad

The Indus Entrepreneurs (TiE) Hyderabad announced the winners of TiE Hyderabad Agri-Biotech Start-up pitch in a daylong event held on Tuesday, November 21, 2018 at the PJTS Agricultural University. A total of 27 start-ups applied for the event, out of which TiE shortlisted 13 start-ups for the investor pitch. After the final round, BODHA an innovative product start-up from Amaravati, incubated in IKP knowledge park, Karnataka was declared as the winner. Runner ups where the Hydrabad ventures, GoBhaaratiincubated in Nutrihub of IIMR &UrbanKisaan incubated in NAARM A-Idea.



BODHA was rewarded with the TiE’s free annual membership. The business models presented also attracted potential partnership interest by incubators, customers, and investors present at the daylong event.



TiE Hyderabad Agri-Biotech Start-up Demo Day is jointly hosted by FABA (Federation of Asian Biotech Associations), University of Hyderabad and other players from Agri-Biotech domain. This event brought together Agri-Biotech Technology Business Incubators & Accelerators from across the country to promote the ‘Spirit of Entrepreneurship & Innovation’ in the Agricultural sector.



“We made a new beginning today, by creating a platform and helping Agri-Biotech start-ups to connect with leading investors, successful entrepreneurs and global Innovators, Researchers from Academia & Students to network, collaborate, learn and succeed", saysPhaniPattamatta, Executive Director, TiE Hyderabad.



"Our aim at this event, focussed on sectoral growth and create domain centred investor pitch opportunity for aspiring agri-biotech entrepreneurs. Together with several specialised innovation hubs we intend to accelerate growth, as well as provide a platform for the start-ups incubated with them to go to the next level”, says Kali Prasad, President, TiE Hyderabad.



Winners were declared after evaluating parameters such as Innovation Driven Ideas, scalable customer solving abilities, unique differentiators, Business Plan & Team strength, Target Customers, Growth potential including current revenue streams & future projections, through their pitch.



The eminent jury panel comprised of VenkatadriBobba, General Partner, Ventureast and TiE Hyderabad Charter Members, AVN Reddy, CMD, Roshini Crops, Dr.BalajiBhyravabhatla, MD, Hylasco Bio and SrinivasaSatti MD, Finvista Advisors.
