98 Inventions from an Indian Village Entrepreneur

“In India, agriculture and farming are the primary sources of livelihood for many. Farmers are not only illiterate; they are also poor and cannot afford to buy expensive technology, even if it's available. It's a vicious circle. So I try to create technology that is available cheaply and requires less expertise. In the case of poor farmers, I design it free of cost” says Bharali who loves to invent products for agriculture.

He says that he has no inspirational figures. He is known to overprice his products to the government and says “I've always believed that government officials are corrupt and hence, I don't give them any discounts. I charge Rs 24,000 per month for private organizations and Rs 48,000 if I am designing something for the government.

It took him 72 hours to design the pomegranate de-seeder but he never gave hope. He has big dreams for his country and says that he would want to build a mechanized toilet for the handicapped. He is also very certain and makes sure that he does not rob away any jobs from the public and designs his inventions accordingly.
