Flipkart makes Myntra app-only, then 'backtracks':

Myntra, the first site that announced to go app-only, has now taken a U-turn. Yes, looks like Myntra’s app-only strategy has failed and the company is all set to roll out a mobile site. Looks like, Flipkart is busy rectifying some mistakes as the retailer also announced to drop its app-only plan. The move has not exactly been a success but it remains to be seen how things will move.

Housing.com and Zomato’s Mass Layoffs:

Several early and growth stage startups are going for massive layoffs. After Tinyowl, Housing, Helpchat, now Info Edge-funded Zomato has announced 300 layoffs. In February this year, the company had over 1,200 positions opened and six months ahead it laid off 10 percent strength largely in the U.S. Zomato had stated in a blog post, “Operations will need fewer people to run the show compared to the past.”

All these things will also significantly bring down our burn rate and as we go along, make our businesses in these markets much stronger. Overall, Housing.com sacked over 800, Zomato fired 10 pct percent of its workforce comprises of 300 people and TinyOwl had to sack over 200 people.
