Romotive is a startup that builds robots that can be controlled through an iPhone. It uses sounds and emoticons to give the robot a personality. The company is based in Las Vegas and has raised $1.6 million from various sources to run its operations. The team is planning to place a robot in every house hold and is currently developing a robot API.

Orbotix is turning iPhones into remote controls with their cool robot ball, Sphero.  It can turn a kid or a pet crazy with the complete control on phone. The company had raised $11 million and recently struck a deal with Apple Inc., and its products are now being sold in Apple stores, nationally.
