7. Oops! You are late

Incident: “While in NYC for a conference, a CEO implored me to step out of the proceedings for an hour to hear his pitch. I did so, and he was 45 minutes late for the meeting," says VC Don Rainey.

Reaction: Don never made a deal.

Lesson: Value your VCs time and never ever get late for a pitching.

8. Messing up with VC

Incident: An executive named Mike kept insulting Don Rainey for more than 15 minutes, right at the beginning of the meeting.

Reaction: When the meeting was over, Don was mildly angry and was not interested in the deal anymore.

Lesson: Never insult your investor or let any member of your team mess up with the VC or you might end up on the loosing side.
