Event: Diving.

Achievements: 4 gold, 1 silver.

Success Mantra: Never give up.

During the 1988 Olympics, Louganis accidentally slammed his head into the springboard while performing a dive in the preliminary rounds. The accident gave him a concussion. However surprisingly, he managed to pick himself up and went on to win the gold medal in the event.
