Youngest Athlete Anish Bhanwala brings global acclamation in Asian games 2023

Young enthusiastic athlete Anish Bhanwala of Karnal has brought our country the supreme fame in the Asian Games 2023 with joining hands with Vijayveer Sindhu and Adarsh Singh, by bagging a bronze medal in the men's rapid fire 25m pistol team event.  Starting from the young age Anish has been a keen enthusiast of shooting, and he joined the Indian Shooting Team in 2017. From the early golden days till today’s successful moment, he has always maintained an unwavering passion for sports and emerged as a rising star in the world of shooting.

Anish was born and brought up in Karnal, Haryana. He shaped his career in sports without neglecting the study by balancing both simultaneously. He completed his schooling from St. Theresa's Convent Sr. Sec. School followed by Manav Rachna International School, Charmwood in 2018 by securing 90 percent marks in his board examination. After biding goodbye to the solitary corridors of school he marked his footsteps in the campus of Manav Rachna International Institute of Research & Studies (MRIIRS), where he completed his graduation.  His unending and keen efforts of sports could not stop him from achieving higher degrees in studies, and he enrolled for MBA program in Manav Rachna International Institute of Research & Studies. Manav Rachna institute has accorded a large part for his success through their state-of-the-art shooting academy and contributed towards his training and development, providing a nurturing environment for sharpening his talent under the guidance of national and international acclaimed coaches.

Anish started his spectacular journey in sports by imprinting his footsteps in the world of sports by setting few milestones. In Commonwealth Games 2018 in Delhi as the youngest Indian to secure one at the age of 15 and clinched Gold, in 2017, he secured a Silver in the Commonwealth Shooting Championship in Brisbane in 2017 and announced a dazzling debut as the youngest Indian athlete. His unwavering attitude extended to the ISSF Junior World Cup in Sydney, in 2018, where he not only secured individual Gold but also contributed to the team's success with a Gold Medal.

Anish not only showed his courageous caliber in the world of shooting but he represented India in the U-12 Modern Pentathlon World Cup and the Asian Modern Pentathlon Championships in 2015, exhibiting his versatility as an athlete.

His tremendous trailblazing success was bestowed with a constellation of awards and honors like Pradhan Mantri Rashtriya Bal Puruskar, by the President of India, followed by Yono SBI Athlete of the Year, a testament to his outstanding impact on Indian sports. His prestigious athletic journey was further acclaimed by TOISA Emerging Player of the Year Awards for the years 2017-18 and 2018-19. His truly amazing talent was recognized by the Sports Authority of India through the title of prestigious ‘Athlete of the Year’ award for both 2016-17 and 2017-18. In 2022, Haryana government awarded him with the prestigious Bhim Award, which was presented to him by Hon'ble Governor, Haryana – Bandaru Dattatreya J.

Undoubtedly, Anish will continue this remarkable success in future. His golden journey of becoming an international icon from a small town of India will be marked in golden words. His never stoppable passion, perseverance and potential will boost the enthusiasm of the youth of India in the following days for sure.
