What Robotics has Done in Sporting Industries so Far!

Football

Football is the most popular sport in the world, and there is no wonder robots are joining the action. There is even a competition called RoboCup, which was founded in 1996 by a group of university professors. Robots of different sizes and kinds compete each other and interestingly, the teams have huge sponsors too for the event. The aim of the competition is to promote robotics and AI research by offering a publicly appealing challenge. However, the skills are not on par with that of Messi’s and Ronaldo’s, so football players don’t have to worry about the team of robots.
