TATA IPL 2024: JioCinema unveils Commentators; Sehwag to lead Haryanvi Team

JioCinema has unveiled the full roster of commentators for IPL 2024. Fans can catch all the action online via the JioCinema app and website, with matches accessible in 12 diverse languages. Notably, Haryanvi makes its debut on the language list alongside Hindi, English, Gujarati, Marathi, Bhojpuri, Bengali, Punjabi, Tamil, Kannada, Telugu, and Malayalam.

Virender Sehwag will head the Haryanvi commentary team, marking a significant addition. Meanwhile, Ajay Jadeja will step into the realm of Gujarati commentary for the first time. Former Australian cricketer Shane Watson and ex-New Zealand coach, as well as Director of Cricket at Royal Challengers Bangalore, Mike Hesson, along with Sehwag and Jadeja, will provide exclusive behind-the-scenes insights from the dressing rooms of the IPL franchises for fans.

Following his stints with the Delhi Daredevils and Kings XI Punjab, Sehwag transitioned into a mentoring role within Preity Zinta's Punjab franchise. Joining Sehwag in the Haryanvi commentary lineup is Manvinder Bisla, renowned for clinching the Player of the Match award in the 2012 IPL Final. Meanwhile, Watson continues his IPL journey, having secured titles with the Rajasthan Royals and Chennai Super Kings. Notably, he was named Player of the Tournament during the inaugural season with the Royals. Watson's exceptional unbeaten 117 in the 2018 Final against Hyderabad is widely regarded as one of the greatest innings in IPL history.

Mike Hesson will extend his journey with the IPL as an on-air expert. After having coached Kings XI Punjab and worked as a director of cricket operations with the RCB, the Kiwi expert will join some of the iconic players he coached in the IPL like AB de Villiers and Chris Gayle. “The response we got for our deep and wide presentation of the TATA IPL 2023 from our viewers, advertisers, and cricket fanatics was heartening and we are doubling down on our innovations and initiatives for TATA IPL 2024", Viacom18 Sports Head of Content Siddharth Sharma was quoted as saying in a press release by JioCinema.

Sharma emphasized that for this season, JioCinema aims to elevate the viewer experience by introducing "high-profile personalities" and strengthening engagement with fans through unique features like the Hero Cam and Viral Weekends.
