Punjab Kings put in a dominating display to beat Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) by eight wickets, chasing down a target of 172 without difficulty in 16.2 overs. Prabhsimran Singh and Shreyas Iyer played effortless half-centuries to achieve the victory with 22 balls remaining.
Punjab Kings put LSG on the back foot early after winning the toss, with Arshdeep Singh setting the tone for the bowling attack with 3/31. LSG lost precious wickets as Mitchell Marsh and Aiden Markram were sent back cheaply by Arshdeep and Lockie Ferguson. Captain Rishabh Pant's woes resumed as he was dismissed low-scored. Despite this, Nicholas Pooran (44) and Ayush Badoni (41) mounted a fightback, taking LSG to a challenging 171/7.
Punjab Kings took control of the chase right from the beginning, reaching 62/1 in the powerplay. Prabhsimran Singh scored a scorching 69 off 34 balls, which was the tone of the innings. Shreyas Iyer maintained his good touch, staying not out with a well-made half-century. Nehal Wadhera added a solid 43, and Punjab sailed home without any hassles.
