Bengaluru is all set to celebrate cricketing history as Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) returns home after clinching their maiden Indian Premier League (IPL) title. The team, fresh from their landmark victory over Punjab Kings at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad, will be welcomed with a grand Victory Parade through the city today.
The celebratory bus parade will begin from Vidhana Soudha and conclude at M Chinnaswamy Stadium around 3:30 PM. Thousands of fans are expected to line the streets, dressed in RCB’s signature red and black, waving flags, and chanting as the team parades the coveted trophy through Bengaluru’s Central Business District.
To manage the massive turnout, city authorities have implemented traffic restrictions and ramped up security along the parade route. The mood across the city is one of euphoria, as supporters prepare to celebrate 18 years of unwavering loyalty finally crowned with triumph.
RCB star Virat Kohli, speaking after the win, confirmed the team’s return to Bengaluru and expressed his joy at sharing the victory with the fans. He also extended invitations to former RCB legends Chris Gayle and AB de Villiers to join the celebrations, saying, “This moment is not just ours it belongs to every RCB fan”.
Meanwhile, the city has been in party mode since the final whistle on Sunday. Areas like Indiranagar, MG Road, Koramangala, and Vijayanagara erupted with fireworks, music, and dance. Pubs screening the match turned into celebratory hotspots, with emotional fans shouting, 'Ee Sala Cup Namde'! into the night sky.
Today, the city stands united not just in celebration, but in pride as it welcomes its long-awaited champions home.
