Mumbai Indians Cruise to 100-Run Victory Over Rajasthan Royals
Mumbai Indians (MI) continued their dominant run in the 2025 Indian Premier League (IPL) by defeating Rajasthan Royals (RR) by a massive 100 runs in the 50th match of the season at the Sawai Mansingh Stadium in Jaipur on Thursday. This victory marked MI's sixth consecutive win and propelled them to the top of the points table.
The five-time champions put on a clinical performance, equaling their own record of six straight wins, a feat they last achieved in 2017 when they went on to win the IPL title. Despite a sluggish start to the season, with only one win from their first five games, MI has now turned their fortunes around, with Hardik Pandya and his team looking unstoppable.
MI's consecutive wins record includes:
  • 6 wins in 2008
  • 6 wins in 2017
  • 6 wins in 2025 (current season)
Notably, MI has reached the IPL finals in every season where they have won five or more consecutive matches, except for the inaugural season in 2008. With the 100-run victory over RR, MI has also maintained their unbeaten record when posting a total of 200 or more while batting first.
Batting first after losing the toss, MI posted a mammoth 217/2 in their 20 overs. All of their top four batsmen crossed the 40-run mark, with Ryan Rickelton and Rohit Sharma both scoring half-centuries. Suryakumar Yadav and Hardik Pandya also contributed with 48 runs each, coming off just 23 balls.
In response, Rajasthan Royals never looked in the contest. The Royals kept losing wickets at regular intervals, with Jofra Archer top-scoring for the hosts with 30 runs off 27 balls. Rajasthan were bundled out for just 117 runs in 16.1 overs, handing MI a comprehensive 100-run victory.
This win was MI's first in Jaipur since 2012, breaking a four-match losing streak at the venue.
