Gujarat Titans Beat Royal Challengers Bengaluru by 8 wickets
Gujarat Titans showcased a stellar all-round performance, triumphing over Royal Challengers Bengaluru by eight wickets in their Indian Premier League match on Wednesday in Bengaluru. Chasing a target of 170 runs, GT completed the mission with 13 balls to spare. The dynamic Jos Buttler led the charge with an unbeaten 73 off 39 balls, while opener Sai Sudharsan contributed a determined 49 off 36 balls. Together, they forged a powerful partnership, adding 75 runs for the second wicket and moving the team closer to their second victory in three matches. Sherfane Rutherford bolstered the effort, remaining not out with 30 runs off 18 balls. Earlier, Mohammed Siraj made his mark with two wickets in the powerplay, but RCB rallied to post a respectable total of 169 runs for eight wickets after being sent in to bat.
Mohammed Siraj, Player of the Match quotes, “I was a bit emotional. I was here for 7 years, changed jersery from red to blue and was emotional but once I got the ball I was fine. I am Ronaldo's fan and hence the celebration. I had been playing consistently, but during the break I corrected my mistakes and worked on my fitness. Once I was picked up by Gujarat Titans, I spoke to Ashish Bhai. He (Nehra) tells me to go enjoy your bowling and Ishu (Ishant) Bhai tells me what line and length to bowl. My mindset is to have belief and then the pitch does not matter”.
