Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) will be desperate to turn their season around as they take on a confident Punjab Kings (PBKS) in Match 27 of the Indian Premier League 2025 at the Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium on Saturday.
SRH, considered strong contenders at the start of the tournament, have endured a disappointing run with four consecutive defeats after a record-breaking 286-run performance in their opener. Their aggressive batting strategy has faltered in recent games, with scores of 163, 120, and 152. Key batters like Travis Head, Abhishek Sharma, and Ishan Kishan have failed to provide consistent starts.
Their bowling unit has been equally underwhelming, currently holding the worst economy rate (10.73) and highest bowling average (41.47) in the league. Captain Pat Cummins has been expensive, and the absence of a reliable spinner continues to hamper their chances.
In contrast, PBKS are riding high on momentum, coming off an impressive 18-run victory over Chennai Super Kings. With three wins in four matches, they sit comfortably in fourth place. The team has seen consistent performances from a rotating cast of match-winners, despite limited contributions from stars like Marcus Stoinis and Glenn Maxwell.
As SRH look to break their losing streak, PBKS will aim to consolidate their position in the top four with another commanding performance.
