Indian Cricket Team consolidate No. 3 position in ICC rankings

Rohit Sharma-led team has further solidified its third-place position ahead of Pakistan on the most recent ICC Men's ODI Team Rankings as a result of India's series triumph against England.

As New Zealand continues to be the top side with 128 rating points, India now leads Pakistan (106 rating points) by three. Despite dropping the three-match ODI series, Jos Buttler's England stand second with 121 rating points.

A maiden One-day International century by wicketkeeper-batter Rishabh Pant helped India clinch a 2-1 series victory over England on Sunday and in the process ensured they held on to third spot.

With South Africa now in sixth place and only seven rating points behind Pakistan, things could change over the next few weeks. If they can sweep their next three-match series against England, they have a chance to move up as high as fourth.

A strong showing by India in their own three-match series against the West Indies later this month might increase pressure on rivals Pakistan, Australia, and South Africa.

Pakistan and Sri Lanka are currently engaged in a Test match, with the next 50-over match for Babar Azam's team scheduled for August in the Netherlands.
