India vs Pakistan Champions Trophy Tickets Sell Out in Minutes
On Monday, February 3, the much-anticipated India-Pakistan clash in the ICC Champions Trophy 2025 sold out within minutes of hitting the market. Crickets fans lined up in their excess of 1.5 lakh to fetch as many tickets online, which in turn resulted in more than one hour wait time.
It is scheduled on February 23 at the Dubai International Cricket Stadium, where India and Pakistan will meet. This match is the kind of game that will determine their positions inside the group stages of the 2025 Champions Trophy hybrid model-tournament, played in both Pakistan and the UAE.
The Champions Trophy is scheduled to start on February 19, with Pakistan hosting a number of matches, despite ongoing concerns about the readiness of some venues. PCB Chairman Mohsin Naqvi addressed these concerns on Friday, assuring that the venues in Lahore, Karachi, and Rawalpindi are set to host the event on schedule.
While some of the venues in Karachi and Rawalpindi remain under construction or are being renovated, images that have emerged from the sites raise questions about whether they are ready. Naqvi, however, remained optimistic that Pakistan would be ready to host the glamorous event.
"The Gaddafi Stadium will be functional in its full capacity when the Prime Minister will inaugurate it on February 7. Even though work is still going on at the National Stadium in Karachi and Rawalpindi Stadium, we want to ensure a world-class experience for all the spectators", Naqvi said.
While addressing some of the criticisms regarding the quality of seating at Gaddafi Stadium, Naqvi said that the chairs imported from China carry a 20-year warranty and will meet the requirements for the event.
