Atacama Crossing

The Atacama Crossing crosses Chile’s brutal Atacama Desert, the driest place on Earth. With a landscape consisting of salt lakes, volcanoes, lava flows and sand dunes, the Atacama Crossing is grueling because of its terrain, harsh climate and an altitude that averages 2,500 m during the race. The race typically begins at its highest point of more than 3,000 m in the Arcoiris Valley.

Sahara Race

The Sahara segment takes place, usually in October, in the hottest desert in the world where daytime temperatures reach 50°C. Competitors have to contend with a variety of terrains—both rock and sand, and face endless miles of sand dunes up to 122 meters high.
