Cricketing Stars Who Have Set Benchmarks For Their Peers

Sangakkara, the elegent southpaw from the Emerald Island was one of the team’s batting mainstays who scored big runs for fun during his final season (2014-15) as an international player. He was so prolific that even the sports minister of the country asked him to review his decision to quit the game. During that period, the artistic batsman scored 1438 runs in 14 Tests grabbing four centuries and eight half centuries. In ODIs, he created a history by becoming the first batsman to score four back-to-back hundreds during the World Cup. Though it was not enough to take his team all the way in the tournament but it showed the cricketing fraternity of how good a player he was.
