Some unwanted guests halted Mumbai Indians' (MI) practice session ahead of their much-awaited fixture against Chennai Super Kings (CSK). As MI were preparing for the CSK tie, a swarm of bees entered the practice area. It brought the session to a halt and MI's players had to lay down to save themselves.
The five-time IPL Champions have shared the video of the players preventing themselves by laying down. There have been a few occasions of a bee attack halting the games. In 2008, the Delhi Test match between India and Australia was paused due to the same reason. The 2019 World Cup game between Sri Lanka and South Africa was also halted due to a bee attack.
The players aren't completely unknown to this situation and know how to prevent themselves in such a scenario. Meanwhile, MI will square off against Chennai Super Kings in a high-voltage tie today (April 21) at Dr. DY Patil Sports Academy.
MI have remained winless so far and have lost all of their six fixtures in the tournament. They kicked off their journey with a stunning defeat at the hands of Delhi Capitals. MI's next five defeats have come against Rajasthan Royals, Kolkata Knight Riders, Royal Challengers Bangalore, Punjab Kings and Lucknow Super Giants.
A win over CSK will be a huge confidence booster for the five-time IPL Champions and can help them turn around their abysmal IPL 2022 campaign. A defeat here will put MI on the cusp of elimination and they will have to win their last 7 matches on the trot to keep their chances of making it to the playoffs alive.
CSK are also struggling in the season and have only managed 1 win from 6 matches. Their win came against Royal Challengers Bangalore. A defeat here will push the Ravindra Jadeja-led side closer to an early elimination from the tournament.
CSK entered IPL 2022 as defending champions. The Yellow Army has crashed out from the league stage in only 1 out of 12 completed seasons it has been part of.
