5 Indian players one should definitely watch out for!

Get ready for action-packed three months which starts with three T20Is between India and Sri Lanka followed by the razzmatazz of the cash-rich Indian T20 Premier League.

The time is ripe for you to download the fantasy cricket app and make the most of the opportunities thrown at you even as our glamorous cricketers sweat it out on the field.

Here are the five Indian cricketers that you must have in your ranks as they could set the temperature soaring this summer.

Ishan Kishan:

While we witnessed the frenzy among teams to acquire him at the mega auction where he eventually fetched a mind-boggling Rs 15.25 crore, the biggest task for the youngster is now where he will have to live up to his high billing from five-time champions Mumbai. Although Kishan had a subdued T20I series against West Indies at Eden Gardens recently where he scored 71 in three matches with a highest of 35 in the first game, the expectations are high from the southpaw who is likely to dominate Sri Lanka, a team in transition, in the upcoming three T20Is at Lucknow. His success in the Indian T20 Premier League will keep him in good stead for the World Cup T20 too, which is later this year in Australia.

Virat Kohli:

He may not be the leader of the Indian team anymore but his batting prowess can still instil fear among the opposition teams. Yes, the former India captain is experiencing a drought as far as scoring a century is concerned (he last scored a ton in 2019), but no way he looks out of touch. He recently provided a glimpse of his vintage form when he slammed a 41-ball 52 against the West Indies during the second T20I at Eden Gardens. King Kohli could be back to his explosive best with the pressure of leading Royal Challengers Bangalore not on his shoulders anymore.

Venkatesh Iyer:

The last two editions of the Indian T20 Premier League have rapidly surged the lanky all-rounders stock in Indian cricket. His ability to bowl four tight overs in T20s and take the bowlers to cleaners with impactful cameos has resulted in Iyer being fast-tracked into the Indian team as a replacement for Hardik Pandya. In the recent WI T20Is, he scored 92 runs and claimed two wickets. If he is able to maintain his consistency during the SL series and the T20 Indian Premier League, then Iyer could well seal his spot in the Indian playing XI.

Deepak Chahar:

An injury has ruled him out of the Sri Lanka T20Is but the pacer is expected to be a key component of three-time champions Chennai. No wonder, MS Dhoni's team went all out to splurge Rs 14 crore to retain him. His express pace combined with swing and variations has been the key elements of his bowling.

His ability to hit some lusty blows provides a useful option for Team India for this year's World Cup T20.

Shreyas Iyer:

All eyes will be on the dashing middle-order batter as he sets out to lead Kolkata in the Indian T20 Premier League. With India captain making it clear that they are looking for players who can contribute bat and ball consistently, Shreyas, who is primarily a batsman, will have to dish out some big performances if he expects to be in the reckoning for the World Cup T20 berth. He got just one opportunity during the recent T20I series against West Indies where he scored 25 in the inconsequential third T20I. However, with Suryakumar Yadav injured for the SL series, Shreyas would like to make the most of the opportunity.
