Vitara Brezza Launched at 6.99 Lakh, to Ride on Indian Roads Soon

BENGALURU: Maruti-Suzuki storms the Auto Expo 2016 at Delhi with the launch of Maruti Vitara Brezza, a Sports Utility Vehicle (SUV) priced between 6.99lakh and 9.68lakh in ex-showroom, Delhi. This sub-compact Indian bound SUV is rated among Europe‘s safest cars according to independent crash testing results from Euro NCAP with 5-star ratings in the crash test results.

“To be positioned below the S-Cross, Maruti Vitara Brezza will be sold through regular Maruti Suzuki India Ltd (MSI) dealerships and not Nexa,” mentions Vikas Yogi, Financial Express. The Vitara Brezza is powered with a 1.3litre DDiS 200 diesel engine which has 4 cylinders and capacity of 1248cc, resulting in 66kW power at 4000rpm and torque of 200Nm at 1750rpm to carry 1680kg of Gross vehicle Weight (GVW) with a mileage of 24.3 kilometre per litre as mentioned by the manufacturer.

Agasti Kaulgi, BBC TopGear comments, “The Vitara Brezza is exactly 3995mm long, making it look right in the eyes of the Ford EcoSport.” The dimension of such a sub-compact SUV has a height of 1640mm and overall width of 1790mm which gives it a sturdy and sporty look with the back interior bootspace of 328 litres. The R&D team for Vitara Breeza led by CV Raman, Executive Director, and Engineering of Maruti Suzuki also made innovation in the interior space by providing 60:40 split flip foldable rear seats and flat bed to make enough space for large sports kits.   

The different models are embraced by a mixture of colors such as the Pearl Arctic White, Blazing Red, and Premium Silver, Cerulean Blue, Granite Grey, Fiery Yellow, attracting the observer. Vikas Yogi reports that Vitara Brezza enters the Indian market with three different variants LDi, VDi, and ZDi presenting different features according to the model hierarchy:
