4. Indian Air Force Museum (Palam, New Delhi)

Showcasing the rich collection of planes and aircrafts that played a crucial role in defending the country over the decades, the Air Force Museum is a fine alliance of Indian Military Aviation and Indian Air Force. Located next to the technical area gate of the Palam Air Force Station, it displays a memorable and diverse collection of memorials, photographs and artefacts. Along with that, the museum also houses number of galleries which commemorates the martyrs who sacrificed their lives for the country.

The Museum’s Vintage Aircraft Flight Services displays some rare aircraft and maintains them properly. Some of the aircrafts are not open to the public, and some are kept on the apron due to the lack of space. However, all these aircrafts are displayed only on the annual Air Force Day. The museum has a small souvenir shop as well for the visitors.

5. Birla Industrial & Technological Museum (Kolkata, West Bengal)

Being the first scientific and industrial museum in India, BITM was set up on 2nd May 1959 and the extravagant structure of the museum has led to its becoming one of the prime attractions of Kolkata for its renowned galleries and 3D shows.

It is also the pioneer of the Mobile Science Exhibition which was the first of its kind on wheels. The museum houses galleries such as biotechnology, electricity, children’s park, fascinating physics, mathematics, metals, mock-up coal mine, also regular activities like 3D film show, ‘Lost World’, Coal Mine show, Sky Observation and more. This is definitely one to watch out for especially if you’re space enthusiast.
