Hyundai Verna (also called Fluidic Verna), the top in the upper-class segment, sold 4880 units in August 2012. It is a better model than its forerunner Verna Transform. The design lines of the car are bold with big lamps and flashy alloy wheels. The spacious interior of the hatchback offers a jazzy blue backlight theme. The consumers of the vehicle can choose from four engine options (two petrol and two diesel ones). The petrol engines include a 1.4 litre and a 1.6 litre with 107ps and 123ps of power; while the diesel engines include a 1.4 litre and a 1.6 litre with 90ps and 128ps power. 6.99 lakh for petrol and 8.09 lakh for diesel variants.
Maruti Suzuki Ritz comes at the last position in the list of top 15 cars that are sold in Indian market, selling 4427 units in the month of August this year. To survive the competition the company came up with an all-new version of Ritz which is 10 percent more efficient, having the ARAI approved fuel economy figure 23.2 kmpl. Ritz has been changed externally too with re-designed headlamps, bumper and fog lamps, new audio system, driver information display, duel tone interior, improved rear seat space etc.
