Ranganathittu Bird Sanctuary (131 km) is the largest bird sanctuary in Karnataka and spreads over 40 acres. Kokkare Bellur Bird Sanctuary (88 km) is named after 'kokkare' or endangered painted stork found here. Spread over 25,000 acres, The Bannerghatta National Park (29 km) is divided into a number of sections such as the nature reserve, zoo, children's park, aquarium, crocodile park, museum, the butterfly park, the snake park and the safari park. The sanctuary houses rare species including the white tiger.
