Pariksha Pe Charcha 2025: Mary Kom, Avani Lekhara Discuss Discipline and Concentration
In the seventh episode of Pariksha Pe Charcha (PPC) 2025, Prime Minister Narendra Modi welcomed legendary sportspersons Mary Kom, Suhas Lalinakere Yathiraj, and Avani Lekhara, who provided their rich insights regarding discipline, concentration, and perseverance. The session to assist students in dealing with exam stress found resonance with the audience as the sportspersons shared their life experiences and personal learning.
Prime Minister Modi went to X, posting, "Our sportspersons inspire us with their grit, concentration and winning attitude. Watch @MangteC, @suhas_ly, and @AvaniLekhara give tips on managing exam stress during Pariksha Pe Charcha".
Suhas, a two-time Paralympic silver medallist and IAS officer, highlighted the strength of the mind, saying, "Your mind is your biggest friend and your biggest enemy. Whether it's an exam or the challenges of life, nervous energy is something that everyone goes through". His words resonated with students, highlighting the need for mental toughness in overcoming challenges.
Boxing legend Mary Kom talked about the challenges she has faced as a sport in a predominantly male sport, remembering, "In the start, it was very tough because boxing is not a women's game. It was tough for me". I only wanted to prove myself in front of all the girls and women of the nation, and by doing so, I have made the nation proud by becoming World Champion several times." Her story showed the strength of determination and overcoming obstacles.
Two-time Paralympic champion shooter Avani Lekhara explained a deep understanding of fear when she stated, "We fear things that we don't have knowledge about. I started gaining knowledge and improving myself, and in this way, my fear gradually decreased". Her statement underscored the need for knowledge and preparation in eliminating self-doubt.
36 students from different State and Union Territory Boards, such as Kendriya Vidyalaya, Sainik School, and Navodaya Vidyalaya, were chosen this year to join the discussion. Pariksha Pe Charcha 2025 will consist of seven episodes with celebrity guests, which will try to guide students through life and learning.
The eighth edition of PPC has received widespread appreciation for its revamped, interactive format. Breaking away from the traditional Town Hall structure, the series kicked off on February 10 with Prime Minister Modi’s interaction with students at Sunder Nursery in New Delhi. Topics discussed included Nutrition and Wellness, Mastering Pressure, Challenging Oneself, and The Art of Leadership.
As Pariksha Pe Charcha 2025 goes on, it becomes a motivating forum for students that provides them with the confidence and strength of spirit to overcome challenges in academics as well as in life with an optimistic attitude.
