Pankhuri, a social community platform, has acquired Palash, a learning app
Social community platform Pankhuri has announced the acquisition of Palash, a prominent women-focused education platform. The acquisition marks a significant step forward in Pankhuri’s quest to empower women across Tier II cities and beyond. Founded by Pallavi Patil and Jaydeep Pawar, Palash has emerged as a key player in providing skill development video courses, community engagement, and micro-business opportunities exclusively for women. With an impressive user base of 100,000 registered users and a network of over 200 skilled trainers, Palash has carved a niche in enabling women to enhance their professional capabilities.
Pankhuri’s vision to lead women’s education and skill development in India is underscored by this strategic acquisition. As part of the acquisition, Pankhuri will integrate Palash’s user base, trainers, and technology infrastructure, enhancing its overall offerings in the process.“The acquisition aligns with Pankhuri’s vision to lead women’s education and skill development in India. The platform will inherit Palash’s user base, trainers, and technology infrastructure, enhancing Pankhuri’s offerings. Palash will be rebranded as the Pankhuri Community and will relaunch the technology and the app for the combined user base and trainers,” the company stated in an official press release.
Pankhuri has been making strides in the realm of women’s empowerment. In July 2021, the platform successfully secured $3.2 million in funding, led by Surge, a rapid scale-up program by Sequoia Capital India. Pankhuri’s unique approach combines networking, learning, and shopping through live streaming, interactive chat, and cohort-based sessions.
With this acquisition, Pankhuri sets its sights on ambitious goals. The platform aims to garner a staggering 10 lakh registered users and enlist the expertise of 2,000 professionals within the next two years. The combined strengths of Pankhuri and Palash are poised to reshape the landscape of women’s education and empowerment, opening doors to new opportunities and skills for women across India.
