Must watch OTT shows starting August 25

The world of OTT is flooded with new content at lightning speed. A new web series or film is being announced or dropping on one OTT platform or the other everyday.

Look at the some of the highly-anticipated web series that are premiering in the coming days on different ott platforms.

Maharani 2: August 25 (SonyLIV)

The second season of the political drama "Maharani," which stars Huma Qureshi, is the first to be released on the OTT platform.

However, the political turmoil in Bihar in the 1990s when the then-chief minister Lalu Prasad appointed his housewife wife Rabri Devi to succeed him served as inspiration for the multi-season drama, which narrates a fictional scenario.

Bheema Bharti (played by Sohum Shah) will be seen breaking out of prison and squabbling with his wife Rani in the second season of the programme, in which Huma plays the key role of Rani Bharti.

Criminal Justice 3: August 26 (Disney+ Hotstar)

One of the most popular Indian series on OTT is "Criminal Justice." Pankaj Tripathi will return to the role of lawyer Madhav Mishra in the forthcoming season as he takes on the most challenging case of his career. He will face off in court with Shweta Basu Prasad's portrayal of assistant public defender Lekha.

Delhi Crime 2: August 26 (Netflix)

The second season of the wildly popular police drama "Delhi Crime" comes third on the list. The 2012 Delhi gang-rape, which shocked the country and prompted the Parliament to pass the Criminal Law (Amendment) Act, 2013 (Nirbhaya Act), strengthened the provisions of the Indian Penal Code, Indian Evidence Act, and Code of Criminal Procedure with regard to sexual offences. This was the subject of the first season of the Richie Mehta-directed television series.

The programme had won the Emmy for Best Drama Series for its inaugural season. The second season of the programme focuses on the murders committed by Delhi's infamous "kachchha-banyan" gang.

Fabulous Lives of Bollywood Wives Season 2: September 2 (Netflix)

Neelam Kothari, Maheep Kapoor, Bhavna Pandey, and Seema Khan, the respective spouses of Bollywood actors Samir Soni, Sanjay Kapoor, Chunky Panday, and Sohail Khan, are featured in the show, which is reportedly modelled after the popular worldwide series "The Real Housewives."

Lord Of The Rings: Rings Of Power - September 2 (Prime Video)

The series adaption of the renowned trilogy "Lord of the Rings" completes the list. The television series, 'Lord Of The Rings: Rings Of Power,' depicts the valiant legends of Middle-legendary Earth's Second Age.

The epic drama promises to transport viewers to a time when improbable heroes were put to the test and kingdoms rose to greatness and fell to ruin, thousands of years before the events of J.R.R. Tolkien's "The Hobbit" and "The Lord of the Rings" books.

Lord Of The Rings: Rings Of Power' will release in English, Hindi, Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam and Kannada, with new episodes dropping in every week.
