Merc-Benz Set to Topple Audi, Likely to End 2015 as No 1


BENGALURU: The German luxury car maker Mercedes Benz will celebrate Christmas and New Year with all the joy and success that the company has achieved in 2015. The company has surpassed all its opponents in the respective year under the luxury segment and will close 2015 as the highest luxury car seller in country, as reported by Ketan Thakkar/ ET.

The company has sold 13,500 units in the ongoing year and has excelled its rival Audi with its number. Thus the company has plans to produce its 15 new products, including refreshes and facelifts. The company has also targeted to expand its dealership as many as possible and plans to expand its business by 20 percent in 2016.

Although, Managing Director of Mercedes Benz India Roland Folger defied sharing any of the information pertaining to the strategies for the coming years, he said that the company is unlikely to confront a great deal of challenges in the next year.

"I don’t want to rest on our laurels; now we have all these products, the oldest is just a year old. We are just getting into a phase where customer is contemplating buying one of them. 2016 shouldn't be too much of a challenge. For us, the issue is more on sustaining growth. Things don't stop here, this is just the start," said Folger.    

The country which entered India as a luxury maker in 1996 has retained the reputation tag since then and as claimed by the company, it will launch GLC SUV in 2016 to target the SUV enthusiasts.
