Maruti To Recall 1,03,311 Units Of Ertiga, Swift, Dzire
The company said Swift, Dzire and Ertiga customers, who have bought their cars post November 12, 2013 can check the company website to ascertain if their car is among affected by the recall.
Last year, MSI had recalled 1,492 units of Ertiga, Swift, Dzire and A-Star models produced in October 2013 to rectify a possible problem with steering column.
Earlier this week, Toyota Kirloskar Motor (TKM) said it would recall 44,989 units of multi-purpose vehicle Innova manufactured between February 2005 and December 2008 in India to rectify a faulty cable on the steering wheel.
The move was part of a global recall of 6.39 million vehicles announced by Japanese parent Toyota Motor Corp, the world’s biggest car manufacturer.
Automobile companies have been pro-active in recalling vehicles in case of safety issues since industry body SIAM initiated a voluntary recall policy in 2012.
General Motor India had also recalled 1.14 lakh units of its multi-purpose vehicle Chevrolet Tavera last year, manufactured between 2005 and 2013, to address emissions and specification issues. It is the biggest recall in India till date.
