Honda CB Hornet 160R Unveiled


BANGALORE: The Japanese bike manufacturer, Honda has unveiled its new bike in India, which is claimed as the replacement of the CB Trigger that was disjointed recently due to poor demand in the market, as reported by The Financial Express.  

 Honda CB Hornet 160R is the new bike that has been unveiled to the market priced from 79,900 – 84,400 (ex-showroom, Delhi) and the company expects a positive response in the country. The bike was first showcased at the 2015 Honda RevFest and the naked outlook of the bike is likely to take on the bikes like Suzuki Gixxer and Yamaha FZ/FZ Verison 2.0, which are also of the same segment

The bike runs by the 162.71cc, single-cylinder, air-cooled engine, which can generate power up to 15.6bhp with 8,500rpm and 14.76Nm of peak torque at 6,500rpm. Additionally the engine is mated with the Honda Eco Technology, which lowers engine’s weight and friction, thus producing “high acceleration” and sporty performance.  

The company announced to sell the bikes only in 16 centers of the country initially, which includes New Delhi, Alibag, Ahmedabad, Bashirhat (Kolkata), Bangalore,Boisar, Chennai, Cochin, Dehradun, Goa, Hyderabad, Indore, Kolkata, Lucknow, Mumbai, Panvel, Pune, Surat, Thane, Vijaywada and Vizag. The company also did not forget to mention its expansion plans in next year.

Hornet is basically a thinned side of CX-01 concept. The outlook is attributed by an edgy headlamp with minimal fairing. The beefy fuel tank, black plastic side cowls stubby silencer, single piece seat and with innovative features on board.
