Harley Davidson to Launch 'Sportster 1200 Custom' on Jan 28


BENGALURU: Harley Davidson is all set to Launch its Sportster range bike ‘Sportster 1200 Custom’ in India, which will replace the current entry-level Sportster 883 family. This Custom replace bike is expected to be priced around 8 lakh, reports TOI.

With the trianing process service personnel already underway for the new bike, the first lot of motorcycles is expected to be delivered in February to the dealers across India. Harley-Davidson's Sportster range of motorcycles consistsof the SuperLow, Iron 883, Forty-Eight and the Sportster 1200 Custom will join the list. The new motorcycle is inspired by a typical American cruiser that comes with generous amount of chrome and the bikes design seems to be influenced by the Sportster 883.

The new Sportster is powered by the same 1200cc V-twin as the Forty-Eight. This air-cooled engine produces 96Nm of torque at just 3750rpm, transmitted to the rear wheel via a 5-speed gearbox. Stopping power is provided by disc brakes at both ends with ABS as standard. Harley-Davidson will assemble the Sportster 1200 Custom in India and we expect it to be priced around 8 lakh, ex-showroom New Delhi.
