Ford's Muscle Car 'Mustang' To Launch in India on Jan 28

BENGALURU: Perhaps this is the most anticipated car that ford customers have been waiting for years on end. Ford will launch its iconic muscle car, the Mustang in India on January 28. Last year, a Ford Mustang mule was spotted at the Automotive Research Association of India (ARAI), Pune, for government approvals, making it clear that the company is serious about bringing their most iconic car to the Indian streets. As far as the specs goes, the Indian-bound Ford Mustang is the GT Premium Fastback, which will come with a 5.0-litre, V8 petrol engine, churning out a maximum power output of 435 BHP and a maximum torque of 542Nm.

The engine is mated to a six-speed automatic gearbox, which will come with paddle shifters behind the steering wheel. The wheels come with a black multi-spoke alloy wheels and the exteriors of the car has features such as automatic HID headlamps with wiper activation, LED tail lamps and fog lamps, rear spoiler and heated door mirrors and turn indicators. When it comes to interiors, the Mustang GT Premium Fastback comes with dual-zone climate control.

There is a 4-gauge instrument cluster with chrome accents and a multi-function steering wheel. The Ford Mustang will also feature a track app that will offer launch control and also provide performance data on the 4.2-inch multi information display on the instrumental cluster. The 390 watt Shaker Pro Audio System is optional on certain models. The audio system includes an AM/FM stereo, single-CD/MP3 player and 12 speakers including an eight-inch sub-woofer.

The car will offer the performance-oriented Indian car buyer an alternative to the already well established selection of sports cars available in the country.
