Delhi Auto Expo in Feb; Big Auto Brands to Enter India


BENGALURU: The upcoming Auto Expo in Greater Noida 2016 is going to be all amazing and new surprises to all auto geeks. With the recent revival in the market has encouraged many super car brands to come to India, reports The Economic Times.

In February 2016, India is going to witness new cars such as Chrysler’s Jeep, Beetle and Mustang from Volkswagen along with Ford Motor are all getting ready to enter India. Jeep’s Grand Cherokee and Wrangler will compete with the already existing German luxury brands such as Mercedes Benz, BMW and Audi.

The double digit growth in the previous month in automobile industry sent out positive signals in the market. The strong sales numbers also underlined a pickup in the overall economy and giving confidence to the automakers to revive their product plans.

Kevin Flynn, Indian branch president and managing director at Fiat Chrysler Automobiles, said that the time is right for Jeep to enter India's market and that the company has big plans on the product. These include local manufacturing of a new Jeep model in the future, he added. "The growth of SUV segment in the automotive world is not surprising the feeling of safety, control and goes anywhere ability plays well to the changing attitudes of discerning consumers looking for more from their vehicle, looking for more from life. Jeep will deliver," Flynn said.

Fiat Chrysler is expected to launch both Grand Cherokee and Wrangler in the mid of March-April and some dealerships in cities of Mumbai and Delhi are likely to start selling the vehicles by April. The plan is to expand the network to 10 dealers within the first year of launch.
