Visakhapatnam is set to witness a major leap in its IT landscape as Cognizant Technology Solutions has announced the establishment of a state-of-the-art IT/ITES campus with a massive investment of Rs 1,582.98 crore. The global tech giant has sought 21.31 acres of land at Kapuluppada under the Visakhapatnam Metropolitan Region Development Authority (VMRDA), which the Andhra Pradesh government will allot at a nominal rate of 99 paisa.
This landmark development is expected to generate 8,000 jobs and further solidify Vizag’s position as a rising IT hub in India. The move also marks a significant achievement for IT Minister Nara Lokesh, who has been spearheading the state’s efforts to attract big-ticket IT investments and drive economic development.
Cognizant has committed to funding the entire project independently and aims to commence commercial operations by March 2029. The investment not only underlines Cognizant’s long-term vision in Andhra Pradesh but also strengthens the state’s reputation as an emerging destination for global technology firms.
With this initiative, Andhra Pradesh continues to script a success story in digital infrastructure and employment generation, reinforcing its growing stature in India’s IT sector.
