Bangalore:  Just the mention of wine is enough to trigger a trip to the land of bliss. The more expensive the wine, the better it tastes. Wine is considered to be one of the most lavish drinks. For some people, collecting wine is a passion and there are a few varieties of wine in the world which only the elites can afford and the commoners can just dream about. As Easter is approaching, it is time to celebrate with wine and below listed are the world’s most expensive wines -

5) Chateau d’Yquem 1787:

Price: $100,000

Wine Year: 1787

This vintage Chateau d’Yquem 1787 is the most expensive bottle of white wine in the world. Usually, red wine costs more than white wine but this rare vintage was sold at a higher price in an auction. This exclusive vintage bottle was bought by a U.S based fine-wine collector for $100,000. London-based antique wine company has sold this vintage Sauternes from Chateau Yquem. This sweet wine takes centuries to mature.

History- This wine fetched high value because of its rich history as it was born during the time when the first steam engine was being made by James Watt. The grapes were harvested for this wine when George III was the king of England. Also George Washington was the president of the U.S back then.
