Toyota Launches its Second Generation Fortuner


BENGALURU: The power of Fortuner is back as the Japanese auto giant Toyota launches its second generation priced at 25.92 lakh (ex-showroom Delhi). This is the second car that Toyota is releasing in India after Innova Crysta. The new Fortuner has revamped the previous Fortuner design and added fiery look. The new model is expected to reinvent the trend of SUVs in the current automobile market.

For enhanced visibility, the new Fortuner features LED projector headlamps integrated with daytime running lights. With the support of stunning 17 or 18 inch chrome plated alloy wheels, the SUV cruises swiftly on every terrain. Flaunting its sharp window line and stylish round headlamp corners, the beast is expected to grab some attention. The 2.8 liter diesel engine variant generates a massive power of 177bhp and a torque of about 360Nm; delivering optimum performance in all aspects. Whereas, the 2.7 liter petrol variant produces 164bhpof power and develops 245Nmof torque.

Although   6-speed manual and automatic transmission modes are available, the four-wheel drive will only be made available for diesel variant. Focusing on safety, the new Fortuner offers three airbags, and an ABS with EBD which are considered as standard features across all variants of SUV. Overall, the new Fortuner is completely different when compared to its predecessor, designed with a modern and sophisticated cabin. The cabin is endowed with state-of-the-art leather seats tailored to offer top-class luxury.

Additional features include automatic climate control, electric tailgate, multi-function steering wheel, touchscreen infotainment with connectivity and a navigation system. Rear part of the SUV features an electrically operated boot with foldable rear seats and multiple configurations to create more cargo space; making it an all-in-one cruiser.
