Colaba Causeway (Mumbai)

One busy area with locals, foreigners and others, Colaba Causeway is the land link between Colaba and Old Woman’s Island. Mumbaikaar’s favourite, Causeway is a shopper’s paradise and gives us the opportunity to purchase from a range of products like clothes, accessories, jewelry, foot wears, home décor, jute, wood, cane and everything else you have in mind to buy. It is formed by shutter shops and some street vendors. Just like every other flea markets, you can notice customers arguing for prices with the vendors. After the tiresome shopping, you can sip coffee and have something delicious at Leopold and take a long peaceful walk with the tinge of Arabian Sea’s soothing gentle wind.

Jew Town (Cochin)

Mostly known for the antique and spice shops on the both sides of the streets, Jew Town is located around the synagogue in Mattancherry, Kochi. Compared to other markets, the Jew Town is not a very big market and it is actually a narrow stretch with good and elegant kinds of stuffs which is well taken care of because of its value and rarity. Apart from the antiques, the town also offers sculptures, floral oils, handmade toys, embroidered garments, home decors and more. The old structured buildings with the aromas of spices, cardamom, ginger, cumin and more makes the Jew Town one-of-a-kind place in the whole country. Additionally, to indulge the real taste of Kerala Cuisine, a number of cafes and small chai shops with evening snacks are nearby to make a delightful experience overall.

Trivia: The legend on the formation of Jew Town is that the King of Kochi gave a piece of land to the Jews who came to Kochi for trade.
