Maruti Suzuki S-Cross to launch in August: All The Details


BANGALORE: With Hyundai Creta launched, the next on the list of most awaited cars for 2015 is the S-Cross, a premium Crossover from Maruti Suzuki.  The India spec S-Cross which has been constantly making news after it’s unveiling at IIFA awards is finally set to launch in India, precisely in first week of August, reports Zigwheels.

As Creta, the S-Cross will be the company’s flagship entrant to the compact SUV segment and will be sold across all Nexa dealerships in India. Maruti Suzuki is set to launch the Nexa dealerships in India on July 23rd and these dealerships will sell all the company’s premium offerings above 8 lakh.

Engine Specifications

As of the now, the S-Cross will be offered in two diesel options – a 1.3-litre DDiS 200 and other being the powerful 1.6-litre DDiS 320 engine both transmissions mated to a 5-speed manual gearbox and a 6-speed manual gearbox respectively. Overall the company will be offering the all-new S-Cross in eight different variants that are categorized under two models namely DDiS 200 and DDiS 320.

Features

Since there are eight different variants that will be on offer the feature list on the S-Cross doesn’t disappoint at al. The S-Cross Sigma which is supposed to be the base model gets a host of features that include Body Coloured Door handles, Silver Skid Plate Garnish, Chrome Front Grille, 16 inch Steel Wheel, Fabric Seat Upholstery, TFT Information Display With Trip Meter & Fuel Consumption, Outside Temperature Display, Front Disc Brake, Engine Immobilizer, Driver Airbag, Central Locking, Keyless Entry, All Four Power Windows, Manual AC, Electrically Adjustable ORVMs, Tilt-adjustable Steering and 60:40 Split Rear Seats. While the S-Cross Alpha which is the top-of-the-line model comes with a LED Positioning Lamps, Leather Seat Upholstery, Leather Wrapped Steering Wheel, HID-Projector Headlamps, Rain Sensing Wiper, Auto Dimming inside Rear View Mirror and Automatic Headlamps.

Prices and Fuel efficiency

When it’s a Maruti Suzuki product you can be rest assured of decent mileage and as said the ARAI claimed fuel efficiency for S-Cross is devised at 22.7kmpl.

When it comes to prices, the S-Cross which recently received highest ratings in crash test is said to be the most affordable crossover and also the safest in this segment. It is said to be launched at a price tag ranging between 6-11 lakhs (ex-showroom) and will rival against the Ford EcoSport, Hyundai Creta, Renault Duster and others in its segment.
