Hyderabad: Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd, a part of the $15.9 billion Mahindra Group,  unveiled the new Maxximo Plus, claimed to be India's most technologically advanced mini-truck with a pioneering fuel smart technology.

Mahindra & Mahindra's automotive division chief sales and customer care officer Arun Malhotra told that 0.85 tonne payload mini-truck is equipped with fuel smart technology, which allows the customer to choose between higher power or higher mileage as and when he needs, at the press of a switch.

While climbing up a steep incline on a full load, one may switch to power mode to utilize the entire 26 HP (19.2 KW) of power but while going down an incline without any load, one may switch to eco mode which delivers a mileage of 21.9 km per litre.

He said the company had applied for patent for this technology, which claims to save 15,000 on fuel for 4,000 km.

An upgrade over the Maxximo launched in 2010, Maxximo Plus comes with a two-year/60,000 km warranty. The price ranges from 3.35 lakh to 3.47 lakh.

Mahindra & Mahindra has 22 percent market share in the below one ton mini-truck segment. The company sells 22,000 vehicles per month in this segment, which includes 6,000 vehicles of Maxximo platform.

It hopes to increase its market share with the launch of Maxximo Plus.
