Isuzu D-MAX V-Cross Set to Drive on Indian Streets

BENGALURU: Isuzu’s ‘Adventure Utility Vehicle’ is all set to hit the Indian streets at 12.49 lakh (ex-showroom, Chennai). The V-Cross is a perfect combination of an off-roader—a passenger car aptly built for adventure seekers, which will be available from July 2016, reports Auto NDTV. The V-Cross is designed on the basis of D-Max Crew Cab pickup truck and shares its underpinnings with Chevrolet Trailblazer SUV.

According to Team-BHP, the car is equipped with 2.5-litre, 4-cylinder diesel that belts out about 134BHP and 320Nm of torque. The engine is mated to a 5-speed manual transmission with shift-on-the-fly four-wheel drive and complies with BSIV emission standards too. The V-Cross’s chassis is based on the Isuzu Gravity Response Intelligent System (iGRIP) technology, providing good stability at high speed.

The V-Cross brings in stunning interiors and some good equipment on board too. The new interior of Isuzu D-MAX provides an increased up-market look than the company’s premium MU-7 SUV. It also offers steering mounted controls, automatic AC, adjustable steering unit and a 7-inch infotainment system with USB connectivity, DVD and lot more. On the safety front, the vehicle is fitted with dual front airbags, Anti-lock Braking system (ABS), and Electronic-Brake-force Distribution (EBD).

The vehicle was initially displayed at the Auto Show 2016 and will be manufactured at ISUZU’s new production plant at Sri City, Andhra Pradesh. As far as the competition is concerned, the Tata Xenon XT rivals against the Tata Xenon XT.
