Iconic 'Ford Mustang' Unveiled in India; All the Details


BENGALURU: Ford’s new-gen ‘Mustang’ in India created a special moment in the history of automobile industry in the country. The whole nation waited for this moment when the auto-giant, Ford initially announced its launch in India. Now, the wait is over as the powerful car ‘Mustang’ is launched and will soon hit the streets in the 2nd Quarter of this year, reports Oncars.

Although Ford has a good market in India, Mustang was never launched here as it was designed for left-hand-drive markets till 2015. The company’s plans of launching it in the Indian market began when it started manufacturing the Mustang for right-hand drive car markets.

Ford Mustang comes with all the features similar to the international spec model. It comes equipped with signature HID head-lamps, LED tri-bar tail-lamps with sequential turn signals, leather-trimmed steering wheel with secondary audio and speed controls and many more.

Under the hood, the sports car is available with one engine option, 5.0-litre V8 EcoBoost engine, which is capable of producing 435bhp of power along with a peak torque of 524Nm of torque. It comes with a 6-speed Select Shift automatic gearbox with steering-mounted paddle shifters that sends the power to rear wheels that is claimed to achieve 0-100kmph in mere 4.5 seconds.

As far as the safety features are concerned, it comes with features for the passengers such as HID headlamps with LEDs, Blind Spot Information System, Cross Traffic Alert, Dual Front airbags, Curtain and Knee airbags, and rain sensing wipers and Adaptive Cruise control.

The new Ford Mustang will be launched as a completely built-up unit (CBU), and is expected to be priced in the range of INR 50-60 lakh.
