Chevrolet Trailblazer
Launch Date: October
SUVS from GM have never been the real choice among Indian buyers but the Trailblazer certainly looks a promising prospect. Although the Captive has had a fair run in the Indian market it’s not managed to get the better of its rivals due to expensive after-sales service and limited showrooms.
While Captiva is the quickest sub-30 lakh rupees SUV, the Trailblazer is set to come out all guns blazing to be the most torque engine in this segment. The SUV will be powered by a 2.8-litre diesel engine mated to a 6-speed automatic transmission that will churn out 180bhp and 470Nm of torque. The company will also offer the vehicle with a 5-speed manual gearbox.
Maruti Suzuki Baleno
The old Baleno was and still is the favorite of many Indian youths and thanks to its great performance, good handling, comfort and fuel economy. With rumors surfacing it is said that Maruti Suzuki’s YRA premium hatchback will be sold as the Baleno internationally and is said to make its entry into India in the coming months.
Although the upcoming Baleno won’t sport the international design and engine specs for Indian market, it is said to be offered with the 1.2 liter K-Series petrol and diesel motor. The new car will sit above the Swift in terms of features offered, price and positioning.
