Gandhi’s followers would be interested in this place because of Sabarmati Ashram located on the banks of the River Sabarmati. It was one of the residences of Mahatma Gandhi, who lived there nearly twelve years along with his wife, Kasturba Gandhi. Due to the rise in plague at Kochrab in 1917, Gandhi moved his Ashram to Sabarmati. This was the starting point from where Gandhi led the Dandi march on 12th March 1930. Similar to Aga Khan Palace even this place comes under the category of national monument.
