5 Electric Cars That Failed To Cover Distance

Bangalore: Electric cars may sound fashionable and car nuts would go crazy about it every time a new one shows up. Budget 2013 also states that funds should be encouraged towards the development of Hybrid Electric cars in India.

For those who would not know how electric cars first became popular, it was Walter C. Baker who first began manufacturing them in the 1890’s. However PC Mag has listed 5 cars that had failed to take the roads during their times, let’s scroll down to see what they were.

#5 GM EV 1

The first mainstream electric car called the GM EV1 was only made available to customers in California and Arizona on lease. However, customers posed a positive approach to possessing one of its kinds. Depending on the type of battery used and the generation of the car, it is ranged between 70 to 100 miles and 100 to 140 miles.

GM believed that these electric cars only targeted an unprofitable niche automobiles market for which they ended up crushing all their cars. Despite the protests from customers, GM EV1 was made to be extinct.

Finally what remained was a feature documentary entitled ‘Who Killed the Electric Car?’
