2015: A Cheerful Year For The SUV Buyers In India


# New Fortuner Models

Toyota plans to lead in two new variants of its best selling SUV, the Fortuner. One variant will feature a much smaller 2.5 liter turbo diesel engine with a 143 Bhp and 343 Nm of torque alongside a rear wheel drive mated to a 5 speed manual gearbox to cut down on costs.

The other variant will come with an automatic gearbox featuring a 3 liter turbo diesel motor with a 171 Bhp and 343 Nm of torque mated to a four wheel drive system. Both variants of the Fortuner will help the SUV maintain its lead over the rivals.

# Hyundai Santa Fe Facelift

Hyundai is coming out with a Santa Fe facelift the next year. The SUV was launched in India Hyundai Santa Fe earlier this year and the latest generation Santa Fe has been a good seller for Hyundai from the time of its launch.

It is now the second best selling luxury SUV in India and the facelift will bring small upgrades in styling with equipment on the inside. On the mechanical side, everything remains unchanged and a small price revision would help this SUV sell more units.

# Renault Lodgy

Here’s another launch from the company which has given us amazing fuel efficient cars like the Logan and the Duster. A seven seat called the Lodgy is larger than the likes of the Ertiga and Mobilio and its size reflects the amount of space it has on the inside. The company will begin production of the Lodgy in India by the end of this year, which is expected to have a competitive pricing. . It shares some parts with the Duster, one of them is the 1.5-litre K9K diesel engine which will be available with the 84bhp and a 109bhp version later .
