# Ladakh- The Chadar Trek

Best time to take the trek: January to February

The entire trek takes place on Zanskar River, which freezes in winter. The name chadar is used for referring the thick sheet of ice that forms on the river.

The duration of this trek is between 6 to 8 days. The climate is inhospitable and hence, it is considered one of the difficult treks in north India. The frozen top layer of Zanskar River keeps breaking and forming new layer after every few hours.

# Uttarakhand- Roopkund Trek

Best time to visit: August to October

Lohajung is the place from where the trek to Roopkund starts. The first thing visible from that place is the majestic Trisul parbat. While travelling on this track, one can get several glimpses of the great Himalayas.

There are two temples and a small lake that add to the beauty of this place. The climate is not good throughout the year but between August to October, the climate is good enough for trekking.
