007 Bond Cars


Bangalore: Bond cars have fascinated us since childhood. Never would have imagined that these 50 years of legacy will come into reality, but National Motor Museum in Beaulieu, southern England, showcased few of Bond's best cars. Let's have a look at them!

Aston Martin DB5

Featured in Goldfinger , it is Bond's most famous Bond car of all. With all usual Q refinements the car features bulletproof panels, oil slick, smoke screen, machine guns, rotating licence plates, Hmomerscreen, telescoping tire slashers, bumper basher, radar receiver in rearview mirror and passenger rejecter seat. The Aston Martin was in fact used to endorse and sell Aston Martin's cars by capitalizing on the Bond excitement and charm. The car has made appearences in five Bond movies: Thunderball, GoldenEye, Tomorrow Never Dies , Casino Royale and The World Is Not Enough.

Little Nellie

Little Nellie was featured in "You Only Live Twice", a heavily armed gyrocopter that could be transported in several cases and quickly assembled in the field. This Wallis WA-3 autogyro is armed with 2 machine guns, 2 air to air guided missiles, 2 20 round rocket pods and 4 flame throwers. It was just 9.5 feet long and weighed 250lbs with a top speed 90mph and a maximum altitude of 18,000 feet. Q brought her to Japan in four suitcases where Bond used her array of guns and heat seeking missiles to destroy a squadron of SPECTRE attack helicopters.
