Workers go on Protest over IAMPL Management
BENGALURU: There is a long standing debate over multinationals indulging in violation of labour laws and that is what is the case of 80 youths and permanent workers working in IAMPL (International Aerospace Manufacturing Limited) in association with HAL Ltd. are facing at the moment.
In a protest against IAMPL, it is said that these 80 workers have been repeatedly asking to provide proper ventilation and safety equipments at the factory as they work in hazardous environment where the furnaces produce heat of around 600-850 degrees. In addition to this there is also a request been made for a hike in salaries due to steep rise in prices but the management has gone deaf on it.
With no help at all, workers have floated a trade union in June 2015 to reach a settlement but this has lead to severe consequences where the workers have been told not to come to the factory for work. Even with workers union asking the management to allow these workers, the management has not taken any step forward in-fact not allowed these workers inside for over 2 months now.
In a view of this workers union went on a huge protest or Dharna near murgesh palya circle of Bangalore on 3rd November 2015 and even arranged for a public meeting from 5:30pm onwards to extend support as well as get justice to the entire fiasco.
