Women Leaders Discuss the Art of Leading From Front at Women Leadership Summit



Bangalore: The Women Leadership Summit at Bangalore was an excellent platform for Women leaders to exchange information on current topics, as well as, interact with top women leaders.

After the phenomenal success of Mumbai, Chennai, Delhi, Hyderabad and Pune editions, this time Women Leaders from different sectors gathered to share their views at SiliconIndia’s  'Women Leadership Summit ‘on February 24, 2012 in Bangalore.

The event onset with a keynote session by Arundhati Raja, Actress and Art Director, Jagriti, on the topic, “Surrounded by Men? Break Those Barriers!”

Ascending the Corporate Ladder

Moving up is a challenge, as a tech lead or biz lead. This is to examine the strategies and resources utilized by women who have successfully propelled their way to the top of their organizations. Garnering respect and excelling in industries typically dominated by males, the women leaders in this panel have unique perspectives to get you "blazing to the top" sharing their good times and not so good, as they examine the formulas for success in both professional and personal endeavors.

The panelists who focused on this topic were, Jessie Paul, CEO, Paul Writer, Anuradha Rao, VP Leadership Development, Deutsche Bank, Laxmi Char, Senior Director, Global Business Solution, Yahoo, Usha Padmini, Director, Alcatel Lucent and Meena Ganesh,CEO,Edurite Technologies(Pearson Group) who said, ‘Be clear about your priorities and ensure that you be focused wholly on those; Be assertive and use your strengths, which typically would be quite different from the men around you; Ask for help from family and friends, and try not to be a superwoman'. Laxmi also shared her view on this panel and she said, ‘The definition of ‘success’ is very personal, and can change with the years. We need to look inside ourselves and focus on what makes us happy. We can have it all – as long as each of us is clear about what that ‘all’ represents in our lives’. Anuradha focused her views on, ‘The benefits of both Entrepreneurship and the Corporate world - an experience that is so essential for the overall development of an individual in her career’ and ‘Key attributes that contribute to success in an individual's career: Confidence, Conviction and Knowledge of Self’.
